This is a simple fence that is able to be cut on any Shapeoko 5 right out of the box! It is made from a 24x24" 3/4" sheet of MDF. This uses the 201 1/4" endmill that comes with the machine and a 60 degree Vee bit for optional finishing pass. All bit settings are set to Shapeoko HDM since that seems like the closest option for the Shapeoko 5

The file includes 4 different fences.

1 - 22x22" (19x19" support)

1 - 15x15" (12x12" support)

1 - 14x14" (11x11" support)

1 - 9x9" (6x6" support)

The pockets for the bitzero came out a little larger than needed but functions as intended. These pockets leave .25 " material at the bottom for support so all 1/2" and above material can use these fences. You can use thinner stock once the XY zero is set you can just zero the Z from the top of the workpiece.

The outer hole is set to a depth for the original screws that come with the hold downs but you will likely need to adjust the depth to the screws you have.

The Vee path is optional, I added it after I ran the first set of tool paths to reduce sanding.

I looked around for a file for this and could not find one.
Type | Length | Width | Thickness | Job Zero |

Final Material Fence x4 - 73 MDF with finish pass | c2d | 200.00kB |
Make sure you adjust the pocket and cutout depth to your material. All setting are set for a .73" thickness

I've been needing something like this. I made my own and they work, but won't work as well as these will. Thank you!gjsindbq posted 3 months ago
Just wondering. Seems if you have the 22x22 size, you wouldn't need the other 3 sizes? Or am I missing something?Bigsteveswoodworking posted 2 months ago
Just purchased a "new to me" Shapeoko 3 XXL and looking for some of these for my machine. Is there a file out there to download or will this one work as well just adjust the hole patter? Thanks in advance.Nitrohead70 posted 1 week ago
Would be helpful to have more deliberate names for the different tool paths other than "pocket 1", "pocket 2", etc. Maybe "screw pocket 1", "screw pocket 2", "fence cutout", etc. I can deduce what's what by the parameters, but just adds a little more labor to something that should be, pardon the pun, cut-and-dry.You must be signed in to leave a comment.
